History

There has been Sacred Harp singing in the Palo Alto area since the 1970s (a few of our long-time singers still use their copies of the old 1971 Denson edition). Traditionally, the history of Sacred Harp singing is transmitted through “minutes,” which are records of all-day singings and conventions. The minutes on this page are the records of major singings in Palo Alto and the South Bay.
